Hi all,
Been using tom tom on an ipaq 4700 for about a year now, currently using 5.21. However, on Friday it just stopped loading. have done a soft reset of the ipaq a few times with no difference, everything else is working fine. If i take the SD card out tom tom loads but with no maps found, but nothing happens when the SD card is in? any idea? I saw a post earlier from somebody with a similar problem with a spanish map and an iberia config file being corrupted? I've renamed Great_Britain-map.cfg and tried deleting it but i get no joy. Would greatly appreciate any help.
Cheers! |

If the .cfg cannot be deleted, rename the Great_Britain-map folder to something different eg MYGreat_Britain-map. When Tomtom starts a new .cfg will be created having the revised folder name and the original .cfg will be ignored.
Be sure to backup first. |

Perhaps the cards FAT is broken.
With a card reader copy and paste all files to your PC (including hidden files). Format your storage card then paste the files back.
Take care, all data on the card will be lost during the format process.
You could try and delete the .cfg on the PC before copying back to the card if you think the .cfg is broken. |

Just tried that, copied the contents, re-formatted the card and put everything back, still just get the hands waving at me, in a mocking fashion as they make they're way across the screen everytime i try and start. anyone for any other ideas? |

Delete Tomtom and re-install. Last resort, backup whatever you need, hard reset then re-install. |
