Nice looking system, but what is the point of the LASER alert? By the time you hear the alert, they have a reading of your speed. |

Not quite, AIUI, the laser detectors will trip if a vehicle ahead is being targeted or if they pick up a reflection. It's not a cast iron guarantee but it 'may' help you one day :| _________________ Darren Griffin |

Basically what happens is if you have a laser gun pointed at traffic say 30 cars in front of you, what will happen is the laser will rebound and the beam or reminences will scatter (called Radar Scatter) and although the laser isn't being pointed directly at you, it will rebound off cars in front and can sometimes be picked up by you 20-30 cars behind. Don't rely on it, I've never had it work successfully for me on any device.
Also another thing to beaer in mind is if you have a laser pointed at you, they've got your speed immediately! The only thing you can be thankfull for is that two readings need to be taken to stand up in court, so you may have time to hit the brake quick, but it probably won't do much good to drop your speed. |
