Keep reading posts which point people to the 22-page posting regarding the N70. To someone who wants a simple solution to get TomTom working on an N70...

Upgrade the firmware to v5 generic.
Disable POI.
Don't pair the receiver with the phone, only through TomTom.

It really is that simple! I can pretty much guarantee if you meet all three criteria above, it will work no problems.
