Hi all I need to buy a gps receiver but i don't know which one to get. I think i've got it down to either Holux GPSlim236 and the GlobalSat 359 but can't decide! Has anyone got any ideas?

| Welcome to the forums, There is very little difference in terms of how sensitive these devices are. Have a read through the 236 revue HERE or the 359 HERE for what it is worth I have two 236 units which I find great in use - one word of warning though, purchase whichever unit through a UK supplier, there are a number of people reporting problems with devices bought cheaply on E-Bay, mostly grey imports - so if it goes wrong it can be problematic to fix - Mike |

Not a problem with either unit (I wouldn't have got a second one if the first was suspect  ) It would appear a lot of the "problems" are with the grey imports purchased on e-bay, I have said it before that the 236 is one of the top GPS related products I have purchased in the last few years - I am sure someone else will answer with respect to the other unit you are considering but as it is a relatively new unit there probably aren’t many in use as yet - Mike |

| Cheers i was swaying towards the 236 due to fact that the firmware can be upgraded. I'll spend a fews days thinking about it. |

| I bought a GlobalSat BT-338 a couple of days ago and I'm 100% satisfied. Worked right out of the box with my PocketPC/TomTom. |

| they both seem quite similar, still not sure which one to get. i like the idea of being able to upgrade the firmware on the Holux has anyone had any experiance of this? |
