Hello all! I am in fact a "noob" when it comes to my new Garmin Handheld GPS. I am catching on to evertying so far with minimal set backs.
I do, however, have some unanswered questions. The biggest right now (I boat a lot), is how to make the Water Dept, Water Speed, and Water Temp features work? In the manual it says something about an interface, but it is very vague.
Thanks so much in advance to everyone! |

Sorry, I guess I could have included the model number.
It's a Garmin GPS Map 60C
Thanks again! |

I presume Garmin must sell an optional extra external depth sounder/fish finder/temp sensor that you attach to your boat? _________________ Gone fishing! |

This must be for some sort of echosounder interface. The speed of sound through water varies with water temperature and density. So the unit would have to know the temperature and salinity in order to calculate the depth. |
