Help

I have a HP Jornada 520 which I hardly use but now would like to utilise the tomtom software. Would the tomtom software work with the Jornada 520? I have only seen packages that utilise the iPAQ H2210 that cost in the region of £500-£600.

Also can i get the cradles for the HP Jornada 520 and the accessories
Also can someone recommend what complete tomtom nav 2 software I will need and where I can buy it at competetive prices

thanks

I believe you can get TomTom to run on the HP Jornada 520, but you will have to be very rigid with where you install stuff to. basically you will have to get a good fast CF card and install all the applications, the voices and the and maps onto it. Even then TomTom may be reacting strangely at times because of not enough memory (the 520 comes with only 16MB as far as I know).

You should search the Internet for cheap sources of cradles and the TomTom software.

A few more points to pick up on is that the 52x range of Jornada's only have CF Type I support, so you will have to make sure that the CF card you get is Type I if you don't have a large enough one already.

The 52x range also operate CE3, I believe TomTom have a SH3 version to support the OS, but not 100% sure. They do have a MIPS version for the older Casio's.

Also as the 52x range only has one storage slot, the only way you will get SatNav working is to make sure you have a cabled GPS Mouse sitting on the dashboard that plugs into the accessory socket in-car and powers the receiver and charges the Pocket PC at the same time. You won't be able to go for a CF GPS or Bluetooth (obviously).
