Posted: Tue Jul 18, 2006 9:56 pm Post subject: Is It Possible To Change The Order Custom POI's Are Listed ? |
|
|
I've just started creating and downloading my own POI's to my Nuvi 310.
However I've found that when they're listed under Custom POI's on the GPS they are always the last on the list. Given that my own POI's are the ones I'll be using on a daily basis it's a bit of a pain having to scroll past all the Zoned Speed Camera files to get the ones I want each time.
I've tried deleting and starting again with my own POI files listed above the Camera files in my PC folder before uploading however it doesn't appear to make much difference. Uploader always appears to list Camera files first.
Any thoughts or advice as to how change the order Custom POI's are displayed would be appreciated. |

Try putting "aa" before the filenames you want to appear first.
It works on the i3.

I think (on the I3 anyway) it appears to list them in time/date order, so it will put your oldest files first, latest last. (if you list them by date in Windows you should see how they appear on your Garmin). I arranged them in alphabetical order simply by opening each category & resaving it (using the same file name). Its a bit of a chore but if you do this open & resave in the order you wish them to appear, it works. |

On the Nuvi it lists them in alphabetical order. You can either start the file name with aa (which is rather clumsy) or enclose your filename in brackets ( ). Still clumsy, but at least your file names are easily readable. |

Thanks for the advice and I've tried deleting all the files from my 310 and reloading again with renamed POI's.However despite adding either aa in front of the file or enclosing them in () they're still being listed last.
Also, I've just noticed that the pocketgps_uk_gatso_20 file is listed after the 30 and 40 files and before the 50. |

I've just discovered that by renaming the file extensions for the POI's I created in 'Easy GPS' with.csv rather than. gpx it has meant they are now listed first. |
