Hi,

I recently downloaded the voice pack for the speed cameras.

However it will only say the same thing for each speed camera and not the actually type/speed of the camera.

How do you fix this?

Thanks,

Craig

You are going to have to give us some more info.

Like what sat nav software/hardware are you using and exactly what voice pack have you downloaded. Also do you have just the consolidated camera database or the one that is split into type and speed? And how did you set up the voices?

We may be able to help you then.

I have got a tomtom one and downloaded a voice pack from tomtomsatnav.info.

I downloaded the speed camera pack which was relavent to my tomtom off of this site but it only had one file in it.

Hope this helps.

The voice warning file for the cameras is only one file, it is named data.chk whereas the voices (from Rays site will be named dataXX.chk - where XX is a number from 1 to 99, also they contain a .BMP file and .vif IIRC, each containing a coresponding XX or number)

Where have you placed the camera warning voice file in the go's directory? (it should be in the root of the card), and did you follow the instructions to re-name the downloaded file to data.chk before sending it to the root of your SD card?

Finally the device needs a re-boot to take advantage of the revised settings, then configure your warnings accordingly there are some detailed instructions on the Spoken alerts page have a read through THIS - Mike

I followed all the instructions and renamed it etc. I can play all the sounds in my tomtom when i preview them. But when I select the alert this will be the one used for all the cameras.

For example: Say i chose the alert 'Gatso 30' This would be used for all the speed cameras.

I would of thought it would be different sounds for the different cameras.

Is this right?

Craig, this is begining to make more sense now, which database did you download, I suspect it is either the single file or consolidated by type database.

The one you need is the full speed zoned set-up which currently contains 24 different camera catagories, put this on you device and then you should be able to recieve specific warnings by camera type and speed.

I would also remove any .ov2 files from your map folder that pertain to speed cameras (they will start with the file name of pocketgps.......ov2) before placing the new download on the device (it avoids confusion and there is a limit of 39 custom POI's within the TomTom 5 application) - Mike
