Hi,
Sometime ago I bought Navigator for my Mio 168. I then got a Nokia 6680 and put Mobile 5 on it and gave the PDA to my other half.
I'm now looking at a T-Mobile MDA compact II, which from what I can gather uses Navigator. So would I just be able to copy it from my Mio, or am I being highly illegal?
I'm guessing if I were to have to buy it again I could just buy the software package, and use the BT receiver that I got with Mobile 5? |

If you have a legal copy of Navigator, you can change your registered device every 6 months with Tom Tom as far as I understand.
I moved over from a Palm treo 650 to a T mobile MDA Vario recently and just activated the Maps via GPRS on the phone and all was ok.
Your BT receiver shopuld work with your Compact II, but do some searches as to how to set it up. see www.xda-developers.com & Tom Tom's website
Basically you need to pair the devices, then setup a new connection, for my it was serial comm 6, then select that new port serial com 6 in Tom Tom under other BT (unless your BT receiver is a tom tom one) _________________ Skoda Columbus and for emergencies: TomTom + iPhone 4 & TomTom car kit |

What you are suggesting is illegal and against the terms of your EULA (End User Licence Agreement) with Tom Tom. That makes very clear (first clause) that the licence allows you to install the software on only one device at any one time. If you put it on a second device you must delete it from the first. Contracry to popular belief whether you use it at the same time or not is irrelevant. _________________ Peter

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear, that is exactly what I meant, that you only have one copy of tom tom on one device at any time, but you can change your activated device every 6 months. As I mentioned I used to use a Palm treo 650, which I no longer use which is now reset - all non-factory software removed & I now use a WM5 device. _________________ Skoda Columbus and for emergencies: TomTom + iPhone 4 & TomTom car kit |

Mike,
sorry - my comments were not aimed at you. I thought that was what you probably meant - just wanted to make it clear to Terry _________________ Peter

OK, thanks guys. I guess the software-only version is my only port of call then. Any rough ball-park figures on what I should charge for a software-only Tomtom Mobile 5? |
