I have as yet never had a sat nav but am leaning towards Tom Tom.I went on their site and I see they no longer advertise the TT 300,is this because they are discontinuing this model.I see they have the TT One so is this model replacing the 300 and as good if not better.I live in UK

The TT 510 looks a good model but I do not need maps of Europe and would estimate use of TT about once a fortnight so seems to be an overbuy from this point of view.Having said that I get the impression maps on 510 are better than the One or 300.

Can any one advise if 300 is to be discontinued as no point in buying otherwise.
Thank You

The ONE has the better GPS Receiver and is slightly smaller.

The maps on the 510 will be of a later compilation therefore, hopefully, better.

I don't know if it is to be dis-continued but if the 300 functions are adequate for your needs, you can probably pick one up fairly cheap.

TT no longer make the Classic, but the latest Maps and Software work on it and that's all I ask of it.

i had a 300 and upgraded to a 510 after the 300 broke in the first 12 months.. (cradle) and the shop i got it from didnt stock them anymore and replaced it with a 510 - and i got £30 back!! Laughing Out Loud!!

- The 300 is a really good unit and i had no issues..

The main advantage of the 510 to the 300 in my opinion with owning both are:-

Better screen resolution on the 510
Quicker when calulating routes.
Hands free via bluetooth.
Europe maps... (however i bought a TT SD card with the Major routes of europe for the 300)
(Ipod control) - waste of time.... (saying that i dont have an ipod)
upgraded maps.. V6.02 compare to V5.40

the choice is yours...
