|
|
Sorry for such a fru-fru question on a rather technical forum, but I'm a technical guy and don't currently have any technical problems with my TomTom GO 700. I've seen the typical three-pack of gold/black/blue covers/frames for the TomTom GO, but I admit I'm a bit surprised that I cannot even find a 3rd-party vendor making woodgrain covers/frames for the GO line. Anyone know of any place selling something woodgrain? My dash has a lot of woodgrain on it, and I think the TTG700 would look much better with a nice woodgrain frame, even if it didnt exactly match the dash wood. |

Sorry, Mrstella, but Eldar that very much like something I'm looking for. Wouldn't mind just a woodgrain frame, but the whole custom case isn't bad either.
So...why the tease? Where I can I get one of these? I went to your website and looked under accessories, but there's nothing there.
I did see your tips/customize section, which is rather nice, and sent you an email with a link to an app that allows you to play converted DVD video on the TomTom.
Thanks for the response -- please post a link where these can be purchased! _________________ Chris

a bit of a problem here, two problems actually - the front panel will fit a Classic, a 300 or a 500 (SD card slot), but not a 700 and secondly it's a one-off thing. |

Fiddlesticks. Oh, well.
A while back I saw kit that came with big pieces (like 24"x24") of adhesive plastic used to convert dashboard trim to a different color. You would stick/stretch it over smaller trim pieces on the dash and then trim it with a razor knife. That's definitely a possible solution for the screen frame, but wouldn't work with the back case being so rounded. I really like the GO case being black, but was predominately looking for a woodgrain frame/bezel to dress things up a bit.
This is disappointing, but doesn't surprise me -- I'm used to modding things and coming up with my own home-made solutions. I ain't scared! Haha.
If TomTom hadn't moved on with the GO X10 line and changed things so much, I would approach a phone case manufacturer about doing something for the TomTom units, but the market would be limited now that TomTom has released a different design. _________________ Chris
