Here's a screen shot of my Garmin Quest showing maximum speed (bottom right) recorded in a Boeing 777-200 over the Tasman Sea heading towards Auckland with a 130 MPH tail wind.

A few minutes before I switched my GPS on, the in-flight infomation system was showing 693 MPH but by the time I got around to switching my GPS on and getting a fix the speed had slowed somewhat.

I've seen 600 quite a few times and my previous best was 620 MPH.

If you switch the display to metric then it can't show the speed in the big letters because it only reads up to 1000 KM/H (621 MPH).

Sadly, I never got the chance to try this on Concorde.

Laughing No, the height was just over 40,000 feet according to the tracklog. The screen shot shows the trip computer screen and this was taken using my PC at home when I returned from the trip. It shows 28ft because that was the last known height.
