I own a Medion95900 version 4.75 from Aldi & my girlfriend has just bought the Medion96800 version 5.1 also from Aldi. Is it possible to install the later version maps on the earlier model using the map material that came with hers? Or maybe even upgrading mine from V4.75 to V5.1 totally? Have tried but no luck. |

Just copy all the stuff off her memory card onto yours and do a hard reset to get it to re-install the software.
I'm running 5.1 with the latest maps no problem at all on my 95900. |

Me too. I DID have some fun and games with the installation (I'm not particularly IT m inded ), but Medion helpline were helpful and patient.
Question I have is, can the 4.75 Euro street level maps be used on a 95900 unit loaded with the 5.1 version? |

Haven't tried it but I would assume not.
The version 5 maps are a completely different format to the version 4 maps. So now you have 5.1 you need Euro maps for V5 too. |

Hi Surfer, When you say you had trouble reinstalling POI Warner, what exactly do you mean? I intend to add the speed camera software onto my MD95900 (witth the 5.1 version installed), so I anticipate similar 'problems'. Mind you, I didn't have the speed camera software installed on the 95900 when it had the 4.75 version loaded, so maybe I'll get lucky! |

I didn't have any problems with POI Warner. Just make sure you download the correct version for 5.1.
Maybe Surfer--1 tried to installed the older version of POI Warner that he used with 4.75? That won't work. |

Hi twinfanman, when I upgraded from 4.75 to 5.1 I had POI Warner installed & got error message saying wrong version of POI Warner so I uninstalled it. Found the version compatible with Navigator 5.1, but when I tried installing it the installation failed with the message ''Invalid Windows CE Setup Files – Application Manager cannot install this application on your mobile device due to an invalid setup file. Reinstall and try again’’.
Even tried downgrading to 4.75 & using the old setup file but got same problem. After some emails back & forth with info@navigating.de they sent a setup file that worked.
I guess if you are doing a clean install you will be ok. |
