Hi I'm new to this so hope I get things right.

I have a ford Galaxy with heated windscreen and at first my hp2210 and TT3 kit work fine and I was impressed. However more recently the thing keeps failing to find satalites and drops them if it does. This seems to be worse at night. The GPS reciver is the one that came with the TT kit (the whole kit was boought second hand) and is hard wired. I have placed the gps reciver inside the front screen.

Can anyone suggest whats going on and what I can do to put things right?

Thanks kev1311

The tinted widscreens tend to have spots without coating - try placing the receiver there.

Age shouldn't hae such an impact but maybe the backup battery in your receiver is dying, and this will make getting a fix a lenghtier process.

As it used to work ok, try putting on the roof for a short while it will stay there as it has a magnetic base and see if it retains a fix. I have the same unit and is more than 2 years old, now only used as a spare but still gets a fix within 30 seconds and retains it I also have a heated screen.
