I am having trouble getting tomtom5 to talk to the receiver! The PDA and the receiver are bonded and i have tried every port available to connect them when configuring it in TOMTOM but still no joy! Not sure if it is relevant but TOMTOM asks me to pair the PDA and the receiver every time i click Configure.

Help would be appreciated.

Apparently according to TOMTOM you have to do th e following!

1. Switch on the GPS unit and keep it near a window. After a few moments the RED LED should start to blink. This means that the GPS unit is connected to the Satellites.

2. Pair the GPS unit with the iPAQ via Bluetooth Manager and then add the GPS unit as a paired device via Bluetooth Settings screen. Uncheck the option for "Authentication required" in SPP (Serial Port settings)

3. Go to the GPS Status - Configure screen in Tomtom and choose "Other Cable NMEA" as your GPS hardware. Set the baud rate to 9600. Choose COM 8 (usually second last on the screen). Full setup instructions are available at www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=1&FID=3236

So no need to come to my aid.

You should set the baudrate to 38400.
