Problems with TTN5.210 & CF GPS card

I recently upgraded from TTN3 to TTN5.210 - hardware is an IPAQ2410 & a 'Dconnex' CF-card receiver.
I've noticed that GPS reception seems poorer than with TTN3 and it takes much longer to get a fix. Previously I had typically 6+ satellites and now its often only 2-4. Also the 'signal bars' on the screen will jump about between 2-4 bars, even when the car is stationary. I'm wondering if TTN5.210 is running some kind of 'power saving' on the GPS or at least not running it optimally.

Another bug is that sometimes when I turn the system on the screen is black. The GPS seems to operating but there is no backlight on the PDA. Only solution is to reset.

I must say that after being on the market for several years now this TTN software still seems very bug-ridden and I'm a bit disappointed that after upgrading its less stable than TTN3.....
