I am running a HP 6365 with TT5.

Evertime I turn exit TT it is turning off the bluetooth service which means my car kit stops working. Is there a easy way round this ? (I have done a quick search).

Also is there a way of turning off the Wi-Fi automaticly while TT is running. I get fed up of it asking me if I want to connect to every Wi-Fi signal while I drive along, and it is a pain having to turn it on and off every time.

Cheers :D

upgrade to a newer version of TomTom Navigator.

For the Wifi Stuff I use the HP Profiles tool - very handy to quickly switch between , erm, profiles.

I take it then that 5.2 will solve this problem ? I have been a bit wary of upgrading due to the horror stories that were going around.

It is just as easy to switch the Wi-Fi on and off as it is to swap profiles. I was hoping there is a programme to switch it off when TT starts, but thats life.

Nope thats not necessarily the answer. I have a 6340 running TT5.0 and it does not do it. I switch TT off and BT stays on and my car kit stays connected.

It is probably something to do with your BT settings on the Ipaq. Try looking at the settings of the BT pairing. Do you have the receiver connected using "other BT" of "other NMEA". I use the latter because the former would not work

As far as I know you have to switch off the Wifi manually or use Profiles. My normal profile has it off because like you I got fed up picking up networks as I drove along. Much easier just to switch it on (or change profile) when you want to find a network

I am fairly sure that if you change your gps settings on the PDA to be a serial GPS and not a BT one, you will find that it stops turning the BT off. It is a power saving feature. If you have specified a BT gps, it switches it on when you start TTN and then switches it off after, regardless that another application may be using it.

Thanks Gents, I have now set it as a wired other GPS and now have Bluetooth control.

As for the Wi-Fi, I have been told to set it to "Use spefic IP address", and it should only search for my home network. Good in theory, not as simple in practise (in other words I cant work it out)

Once again, Thanks.

"Use specific address" has nothing to do with network selection. You need to uncheck "automatically connect to non-preferred networks", that should suffice. (also select "Infrastructure networks only")
