Hi
i have a brand new a201
have run tomtom on it perfectly.
had some problems when i put FUGAWI digital streets 2 onto it.
there seems to be some conflict with the gps on fugawi and tomtom.
I can run tom tom, then exit then if i try to run FUGAWI it wont open the ports.
and Visa versa, if im using FUGAWI ( and i remember to close the gps ports on the fugawi file option) then run tomtom, it wont recognise a gps device.
The error i get through FUGAWI is :-
Port Error 55 invalid port handle
Mitac Mio Digiwalker a201
GPS Settings:-
Gps Program Port: COM2
Gps Hardware Port: COM 4 baud 4800
Manage GPS automatically ( not ticked)
TomTOm Pocket Pc version 5.210 (5430)
Tomtom settings:-
Other NMEA gps
Baud 4800
GPS_HWCOM:
i would really like to use the 2 pieces of software but am unsure if they are incompatible |

My best guess is to try the tomtom setting for fugawi.
Mainly the HWCOM.
Hope it helps. |

Take it you are using Fugawi PPC ver 3.0? Previous version (1.6) worked better on the Mio A201. But not all is lost - set GPS on Fugawi at COM 4. When you open GPS you will first get an error message, but ok it then open GPS again and it should work. You will need to close GPS before exiting Fugawi. I have tried everything else, and that is the only way to get Fugawi to work without having to soft reset the Mio every time. If you find a better way please let me know! |

Thanks, that seems to work well, the only other thing i tried was after using fugawi ( and turning gps off) was to ensure all running programs in the memory are switched off, then switch the mio off.
on restarting i can go straight into tomtom and it works.
just got to suss out the waypoints and routes on fugawi now
many thanks |
