as title is there anyway to read and send the info to my pc for backup reasons using the usb cable provided or do i need a card reader???
also i know its bad but my mate has maps of the usa and im going so i would like to know if i could backup my uk maps to my pc via usb lead and send the usa maps to the card via usb, then when i return to the uk i could resend the uk maps to it.
is it possible and what software would i need to aquire, thanks. |

you need a sd card reader with a micro sd card adapter to backup your uk maps onto your pc...you cannot load the backup maps onto another card and for it work in the i3 ..it will only work when put back onto its original card...
usa maps can be brought (ie city select noth america or metroguide usa v4.01) and loaded onto a blank card and used in the i3...

So what is the situation where the uk map is in memory and not on a card? Does the insertion of 'say' a France map delete the uk map or does it run in parallel?

on the older i3's the mapping is on the card so its a matter of just changing cards...on the newer i3's the mapping is internal but there is a slot to put a french/spanish etc card in and then i gather there is a menu option to choose the appropriate map... _________________ *************************** |
