I have just spoken to a Car Audio place in Southampton about fitting an AVIC X1R into the above car.
I have been quoted about £135 inclusive of VAT, parts and labour. Is this about right?
They then went on to mention that because my car is on the changeover phase from one model to the next that I may require something called a "Cam Bus", if needed this will cost me another £100 . The courteous chap did point out "Obviously if you don't need this we won't charge you for it" Yeah right me thinks, of course I'm going to need it even if I didn't. How do I know otherwise?
Does anyone know what the hell these things are and if I would need it or not? Also any other installer info around Southampton would be appreciated.
Many thanks. |

Thanks for your response.
I fitted the Avic X1R between Xmas and New Year and tapped into the speed pulse wire that increases the volume on the radio the faster you go. Everything works brilliant without being ripped off to the tune of £100+. |
