|
|
Hi
I'm getting a warning from my i3 8O
"To use this unit the map data must be installed, installation instructions are located in the enclosed setup guide"
Just picked this up from the shop today and this is all I get, the setup guide doesn't mention installing map data!!
any ideas!! Please would be gratefully received.

Try this. Switch off, Remove the card, replace the card, Switch on.
Worked for me once. |

Remove MicroSD card from righthand side of unit (with power off!). Clean edge contacts with a normal rubber eraser. Replace MicroSD card. Power on unit.
Have you also tried a hard-reset? (both buttons and wheel pressed in together on power-up...)
If that fails then you may have a faulty MicroSD card - and will need to contact Garmin UK Support.

Yes just tried eraser and the reset but the same warning, I think you could be right about the card, I think I might just take it back to where I bought it and get a replacement.
Thanks for the advice guys |

well took it back to the shop and noticed on the back of the box that it didn't say what version map base it was, so ask to test it in front of them that too froze and another and another and yes you guessed it another, they offered to refund in vouchers but the price of these had gone up since I bought it so asked if I went to another store out of my area to exchange it and success all the others didn't have the version map base on the box and kept freezing may be a dude batch beware! 8O |

Hi Philious,
Perhaps you could add your 'Location' to your profile, so that any other prospective purchasers in your area could be on the look out for other 'rogues' from the problem batch.... just a thought! |
