NUVI 300 UK Version)- MAPS

I have just bought a Nuvi 300 and was thinking of buying maps for France which I go to frequently. I have since discovered under settings City Navigator Europe V8 and UK Ireland are loaded. I can access maps for Netherlands, France, Belgium as well as uk from where to screen.
Is this correct, if so why buy maps for France
I think the Nuvi is brilliant and I am glad I paid the extra over a tom tom one - One of the best gadgets I have bought, I have maps on highest detail to prevent miss guidance. :D

have a look and zoom into the the holland 'maps' - they may just be base maps that only cover the main roads etc. if they are full detailed mapping then you may actually have got the nuvi 350 with full euro maps. chances are it's just base maps
