Have no luck in getting the GPS receiver linking to my Motorola E815 using bluetooth technology. Any help or point me to the right direction will be much appreciated.

Hardware : fTech Solar BT GPS receiver, Motorpla E815, 512 MB T-Flash.
Mapsource: Garmin Citynavigator Northamerica

Install/Setup citynavigator to T-Flash (CD to Card reader)
move T-flash to Cell phone.
enable bluetooth connection to "Find me" on cell.
With fully charged battery, I powered on both receiver and Cell phone
at my backyard. I was hoping to see the units bonding to each other but didn't happened.

Someone suggested that the mobile phone has to support windows CE system, becasue most of map software must be compatiable with this system, else I can't proceed to the next step. I checked the specifications of e815 on Motorolar webpage, nothing is mentioned about the Window CE.

Anyone knows or has experienced using E815 with any GPS receivers?
Is there a list of smartphones out there that is the right type which can ran sat nav on it?

cheers,

Sorry but the Motoroal is not a Smartphone. It is locked down way too much (for example the built-in GPS receiver needs to be enabled through a series of seem hacks).

I guess it will also lack the required Bluetooth profile to connect to an external GPS receiver (SPP).

You could try to use a proprietory Motorola program (if they actually have one, that is), or maybe a Java applet.

Or you could get a more suitable device like a Pocket PC or Palm or Smartphone or PND (have a look at the Garmin Nüvi)

Thanks for the infor. You're correct E815 is not a smartphone. So I am thinking of getting a palm Tungsten T3 which should work nicely ...I hope :=)
