Can someone explain the deal with the maps. I have just bought a TomTom one in the UK and want to use it in Florida next month.
Q1. I see you can buy 'part' maps of the USA (a few states) from the TomTom website. Are these fully street-level detailed like the UK ones, or are they just general maps with major routes, etc.?
Q2. If I buy and download it do I need register it in someway before use, or can I use it immediately and then sell it on when finished?

The maps are streetmaps, not just major roads and you get one region for 60 Euros or all of them for 120!
I imagine you get a code which activates the map for a particular device. _________________ Tim |

the tomtom maps are usually activated to one particular device thought is a second actiation after seven days and a third after 180 days according the license agreement the license is not transferable from one person to another. _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. I registered on the TomTom site when I bought mine. When you buy the maps for download, the site recognises your Device code and lets you download the maps for use on that device. Once downloaded, you have to go to ttcode.com for an activation code 'key' which you then type in when installing. (You do need your full product code to get the key)
I must add I haven't actually installed yet as I've only just picked up the code key and all the stuff is at home. |
