Hi All,
I have installed Warner poi on my MD 96800 And I have hacked it to run Windows ce .net version 4.20 (build 1088) all this seems to work fine, but can I install tom tom 5.21? No.
I have tried all the instructions puting in dllls here and dlls there etc but nothing gets it working, some of the instructions are a bit vague.
I know it takes a lot to write thenm out properly but it has been done for the cameras & the ce hack.
Would someone please if you have installed it on a 96800 give us a faultless step by step guide on how to do it properly as there seems to be bits missing in some of the instructions.
Best wishes for the new year.
Andy

Hi Andy.
I share your frustration.
I also have a MD 96800, hacked it to death several times, no probs there, can do it blindfolded now, Smile but can I get Tommy to run, no chance Sad

So where to next, I can't find the setup.exe file that is needed.
Where did you get yours from

By the way you dont have to keep installing the hack, just back it up with activesync and then when you mess up with tom tom just put the backup in, only takes a couple of minutes.

Hi Andy,

You are obviously new to computers? you never back up to the device you are backing up, if that goes wrong you will lose everything, always back up to a seperate device i.e. a computer.

Have you installed all the Dlls required? If I remember this then lets you in with explorer, you may need to delete Gx.dll as well.
Dont forget to back up first it saves time. Have a look at this threhttp://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=27735&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15ad:-

Ok I now have my 96800 hacked the Windows CE. Thanks to this forum. I am now looking to try TomTom 5, I have been looking around for the correct S/W omeBay etc, How do I know what version to get. I have found versions called TomTom Mobile some called TomTom Pocket PC and some just called TomTom Navigator, TomTom.com only list one and thats the Navigator. What should I be looking for.

Thanks

I have been trying the latest one 5.21 I got it working then it seized up I tried various ways so I gave up and was thinking of just buying the proper medion maps for abroad but at £80 a country seems a bit expensive. Please let me know how you get on.
