Problems with Tomtom go 700

Have a new Tomtom go 700 which gives wrong directions, e.g.: Turn left when destination is right and left turn is impossible. Distance announcements are incorrect, e.g. : 800 yards when I am 100-200 feet from turn.
It locked up early in use, went blank and needed to reboot (Tomtom info says reboot needed "rarely."
Won't show cross streets gives "No crossings found!" when I know the cross streets.
Upgraded software to 5.420.
Emailed Tomtom 1/8/06, got automatic reply, no real reply yet...6 days is too long.
Any suggestions where elso to get info?
