i have bought a haicom hi-203e with infomap navigator, when i try to run it i am getting a message back saying no data received. i am running xp on my laptop and i have instaled xp drives from haicom i would appreciate any help in solving this problem.

So far as I can tell, you shouldn't need any drivers - the HI-203E is a serial port GPS. It should be a case of selecting NMEA at 4800bps on whichever COM port you've plugged the GPS in to.



What you must do, assuming you have the 9 pin serial lead, is connect the PS-2 plug to a PS-2 port on your laptop. The GPS uses that connection for power.

Are you using the USB model? Go into control panel, hardware, ports and see which post prolific serial-usb is allocated to. Then go into Navigator. Tools, settings, GPS and set the port to the correct value. Make sure the baud rate is set to 4800.
