Increasing refresh rate for tomtom mobile 5

Hi, i was wondering whether the refresh rate for tomtom mobile 5 could be increased on my orange c550. I have a holux bt-321

When i was in the car it seemed to lag a bit unlike the tomtom 300 we also have.

Also, during normal operation how many sataleites do you usually connect to mine is normal 4-6

is this normal?!

Are there any settings i can tweak?

If you turn the display of POIs off this may help - it results in a remarkable speed increase on my C600. Note the 'warn when near POI' option will still work - and indeed will even flash up that particular POI on the map so it's fine for speed cameras etc (it just means you don't get the novelty-factor-when-new that shows you're driving past a B&Q etc!)

Note that the GPS receiver will only be providing a location update every second so the map update is limited to a certain degree by this, however TomTom does include location extrapolation so it is able to update the location several times a second to provide a smooth scroll/update.

As for number of satellites this depends on where you are, the surroundings and your receiver. However, all said and done, 4 sats will give you an accurate fix so any more than this is a bonus (although the law of diminishing returns comes into play).
