Hi Im new to this forum so please bear with me. Im really looking for advice on the 3 points below:
1. I am trying to set up the Tom Tom Plus service but Tom Tom One fails to recognise my mobile phone when bluetooth is on (visibility is switched on). The phone is a Sony Ericsson w800i. According to the Tom Tom website this phone is compatable.
2. I am trying to perform a backup of the information that existed on the original sd memory card. I have downloaded the information from my computer to an Intergral 256mb sd card 66x transferring at 10 mb per sec. Although the download is successful the Tom Tom One unit
shows a motiff whereby the card has 2 red diagonal lines struck through it as if to suggest that it is not compatable. According to the Tom Tom website this card is compatable.
3. I have tried to download version 5.42 onto my original card that came with the Tom Tom One and it fails to download due to lack of memory available on the original card.I have not downloaded anything else onto the card.
Any help would be much appreciated. |

I think I can help you with No3 as I have just bought TT1 and had the same problem.
Don't try to download to the SD card or removable disk. I understand the card only holds the map.
Download 5.42 to your DESKTOP
Connect TT1 (SD card inserted) to PC with USB cable (No disk in PC)
Double click on desktop icon and upgrade should go through.
Fingers crossed |

Re: Question 1
I had same problem with Erikkson K700i, and both the TTGO 300 and more recently TTONE.
The solution for me was to connect using manual settings, these I got from my service provider in my case Vodafone.
You will need the following info:
APN
Username
Password
IP Address
Dial
Dial is normally something like: *99*# but for Vodafone it's *99***1#
Hope this is of some use.
Best regards

Re #3 - if you go onto FAQ on the TomTom website, this is a known problem and they supply a solution that works, well it worked for me anyway! |

That is not true. The card also holds the firmware/software.
It looks like Tomtom have just hit the point where even without anything extra added, the supplied card doesn't have enough free space to get through the install process.

Adam, PLEASE use some capital letters and punctuation. You have made several posts like this, and what you are saying may be very helpful, but presented like this, it makes no sense at all! |

I can confirm that the Sony Ericsson w800i works great for me. I'm with Vodafone if it makes any difference! |

Thanks for all your help on this. I really appreciate it. I was making some progress but now the unit seems to have locked up. I cannot switch it off and its not responding to the sd card. Hopefully when it powers down it'll reset itself. |
