This one here works well:

Plus it's much cheaper than buying from TomTom. :D

It's a 5V output, with +ve on centre pin of plug.

You may have an old charger with this output, but plug may not fit!

I bought a Sony PSP charger from Game which has the correct electrical spec and the plug fits! It's £14.99 but given popularity of PSP I imagine you can find chargers for this cheaper elsewhere.

You can also get a mains/car cigar lighter adapter at Maplin for £9.99 but that means remembering to carry charger lead between home and car.

Others have recommended getting a multi-voltage adapter which you see in supermarkets etc for around a fiver. Most come with a set of plug adapters so you'd have to check that one fitted your TomTom, and be careful not to set the switch higher than 4.5V ouput (maybe put tape on slide switch to prevent accidental movement to higher voltage)
