Hi, first post so be gentle please!

My wife has an IPAQ 4700 with AA Navigator software installed. We are going to France in Jan 06 and have looked in to getting some European maps to help us make the holiday run a little smoother!

we have just found out the the AA software only cover the UK Crying or Very sad So, could I buy a flash card (say TomTom etc.) and use that database with the GPs hardware we got with the AA kit??

Thanks for your help ! Smile !

Hi and welcome to the forums

you would have to buy a copy of the tomtom 5 for france map or ay of the other software and map providers

if you asking whether you could use a tomtom map on aa navigator then no you cant

but you can put any other pocketpc gps software of the ipaq with no problems and you will still be able to keep aa navigator on the ipaq too

If you are going to buy Tom Tom 5 then just delete the AA software as it is no where near as good as TT5 the AA software is very basic indeed.

there is no real need to delete aa navigator yes it is basic but the routing is usually better than tomtom and its basicness is a strong point for it as it is very easy to use

I am sure it would be fine if you only drive in the UK but if you can't use it outside of the UK then it's not much use is it & it is not a cheap bit of software to buy either so for the price I would have thought they would offer other maps.

You can't buy maps of Europe from the AA website so your stuck, for now anyway.

I have used TT5 along side Navigon 5 with no problems at all & both maps were on the same SD card.
