Haicom 203e GPS not working

hiya - I havent used my gps for a few months now and when bringing it back out of its box and trying to get a signal i am getting nothing. i always used to be able to get a single with this device but now i cant get nothing on both my xda and my xda2 pocket pc's. something i have noticed is there is a little red light constantly on inside the gps receiver (my receiver is the one with the clear plastic casing). Im sure that red led used to flash?
I m using tomtom 3 software and was wondering does anyone have any ideas whats going wrong, im sure the com port should be set to seriel cable on com 2 and have tried it on all different ports with no success.
ANY IDEAS ?

just read an earlier thread - the cause of this problem was the beam thing as mentioned on a previous thread , thanks
