Afternoon everyone, new to the forum and desperately in need of some help.

Any help appreciated

A Friend of mine has recently purchased a Micromaxx MDPPC 150 (medion, Mio, Clone). The item has a built in Fold up GPS Antenna.and comes with NAVTEQ GPS Software.

The PDA Device Seems to be working fine, and the GPS Software Installs and loads fine also.

However the GPS icon is always showing red 'looking for satellite' which, in the instruction book could also mean that it is initialising.
If you manually prompt a GPS start up, it goes through the set-up happily and reports that all is OK.

When he first purchased it seemed to work fine outdoors, the device was able to follow his progress as he walked up and down the road outside his house (looking like a lunatic)

It also new his position when using the 'navigate home' option, but it was unble to actually do the navigating.

Please offer me some advise, could be a simple configuration error?, are there any issues regarding the built in GPS Reciever or in car usage?. is it possible to use an external reciever or alternate Navigation Software?

Thanks

Hi, i am a courier and i have a MDPPC150, it works ok but it do's not let you us full postcodes. If you go into the settings menu and look for user mode, you will see standard. Tape on standard and it will change to Extended, then tape save. Go back into settings and tape map info, you will see info bar and street name off. Turn them on. I hope this helps
Cheers
