|
Does anyone else have a problem where CheckPOInt fails to see the ov2 files in the Great-Britain-Map folder?
I'm trying it with the speedcam database, TomTom works fine with it's built in POI warner, the files have been installed properly but CheckPOInt can not see the overlays meaning I can't actually do anything with it.
Any ideas on why this is happening?
Thanks. |

Did you run TTN after you installed CheckPOInt? I initially had this problem but once I'd run TTN for the first time then CheckPOInt saw the ov2 overlay files. _________________ Tony

Did you get anywhere with this as I am having the same problem. It still does not work even after a hard reset of the phone and a reinstall of tomtom/checkpoint... |

No such luck as yet, I've uninstalled and now I'm back with the built in POI warner.
It's a shame as I really did like the level of customisation CheckPOInt offered over the POI sensor, but I've tried everything I can think of (moving the ov2/bmp files around, and uninstalling/reinstalling etc.) |

I have exactly the same problem. View the posts under Checkpoint 5.02. No solution yet!

I think I may have found the soulution!
I got the new TT5 today.
Installed TT5 and the new 5.1 update from tom tom web site.
I also saved all my old POIs from the Great Britain Map which is on my PDA storage card to a folder on mu computer so I could then migrate them back into my new map folder on my PDA storage card. (this is all sugested by the IMPORTANT - READ THIS FIRST paper that is in your upgrade pack)
So I did all this and also upgraded my checkpoint software to the new 5.0.
Went onto overlay settings in checkpoint. What no overlays seen.
This is the solution.
I am using POI edit to update all my pocketgps POI files.
SO
Did you know that your new TT5 maps on your storage card have a different file name to the TT3 maps.
So you need to:
Quote from POI edit web site:
Because the map directory names have changed in Navigator 5, remember to reassign all your autoupdate items by clearing them all and assigning them again using the AutoUpdate Manager (AutoUpdate menu | AutoUpdate Manager).
I removed all my autoupdate POI files from POI edit and then re saved them for my PDA and reset the target file to
\Storage Card\Great_Britain_Plus-Map\
and then did a update.
I then went back into checkpoint overlay setting and they are now there.
Hope this helps _________________ Tom Tom One Series 30 with TMC

once you load checkpoint and sart the program, make sure you select navigate first. This tell Checkpoint where the Map files are. |

I`ve tried that 5 times using TT5.0 and TT5.1 each time all it does is lock up my Dell Axim. All I can do is restore (thank God for Sprite backup software) I don`t know how everybody else gets Checkpoint 5.02 working with TT5. Whenever I try to synchronise to use POIwarner I get a message telling me to click navigate first (this is not what it says on the Checkpoint website). So I do what I`m told and instant crash. I`ve come to the conclusion that apart from not working together they are both bug ridden pieces of software. I think I`ll go back to Checkpoint 3 and TT3 at least they usually worked without too many problems. |
