That's because the co-ordinates supplied by the OS to TT fall between St Agathas Close and St Julians Close, and just happens to be a little nearer the latter.

the thing is though when i set out from my house without putting any route in so its justa real time map it says im 250yards way from my road and im sitting in a field. When do i go past my road on the tomtom on my way out the road leads in to a feild and also there is an extra road on the map where i live. I think becasue of this extra road its Censored the map up. it only seems to be here which is wrong everywere else is fine. Good job i know where i live and how to find it,Laughing Out Loud

Report it as a map error (to TeleAtlas if the actual roadmap is wrong, or (I guess) to TomTom if the postcode boundary is wrong.

Nope, 5, 6 or 7

It's usually in the format City Code, District, Number, Two Letters

City Code can be one or two leters, e.g. for Newcastle it's NE, but Manchester is just M.

District is a number either one or two digits.

The number and two letter code is the street code.

Postcodes can be anything from 5-7 digits long.

The first part of the postcode is generally a combination of 1 or 2 letters followed by 1 or 2 digits (e.g. B3, B17, TF1, TS19). (There are a few exceptions to this rule, mainly in central London, but it is OK as a general rule)

The second part of the postcode is always 1 digit followed by 2 letters.

Since map errors typically take several years to correct, why would phoning them be any more effective than email?

Visit the Royal Mail website at http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/addressfinder?pageId=pol_adfresult&catId=400145&_requestid=202224
and you will see that it is shown as "St Agatha's close"

Obviously an error in the TTG database.
