Hi,
About to buy my first pda/gps. Have decided on navman pin570. I have read a review that says you cannot update the software that is pre installed. Is this really the case?
Surely, the most important thing with gps software is being able to get regular updates as new roads are added, one way systems added/chaged etc. If the roads database is out of date, there seems little point.
If this is the case that you cannot get updates what do you do? Do you have to buy new software each time? I just presumed that you would be able to go to the manufactures web site and download free updates for the maps whenever you want.

No manufacturer has free or regular map updates. In practice they tend to be offered annually at a cost and sometimes coincide with a software update. _________________ Darren Griffin
