Hi,
sorry if this has been asked/posted before as I couldn't find anything with a search.
I've been offered a TomTom 300 second hand from a friend of a friend but it won't come with the box. I understand there is some issue with needing activiation codes to register maps(while i'll need to do in the summer) but if he doesn't know the code is there anywhere else i can get it from?
Also are there other issues I need to address before i hand over any cash to ensure I dont' end up with a useless bit of kit!!
Thanks in advance

Anyone that has owned a TomTom will know the importance of keeping the original documentation and disks. If they haven't got them I would question their ownership very carefully. (Or their care of the product)
If you end up buying a stolen unit, you will lose out in the long run and it just helps to fuel the theives motives for stealing them. |

If I remember correctly, the TomTom licence may only valid for the original owner of the product, so your friend will need to get the numbers you require directly from TomTom. If he can't (or will not)- don't buy, not only may you be left with a non-working product, you may have problems with upgrading the sotware/maps too. |
