Just yesterday, I took my GPS set over to london in a friends car. It had a problem acquiring signal but once it got a fix, seemed to work ok. About 40 minutes into the journey however, as we had stopped at some traffic lights, the triangle which shows where you are on screen started spinning around (despite the fact that we were not). Then, what is slightly more concerning, is that it shot diagnally off the roads and told me I was moving at about 700mph! It finally stopped again and said there was no path possible, then lost its fix. It then went on to do this a number of times. Erm.. any other similiar experiences and any ideas why!?

I often find the spinning triangle occurs when in very slow moving or stationary traffic in Southall Broadway which is very much built up on both sides leading to the unit only reading 4 or 3 satellites. If you have ever been in Southall you will know what I mean. It is the road that the Road Traffic Act forgot! Laughing

I have always assumed that the spinning effect is due to being stationary with so few satellite hits leading the software to have difficulty in figuring out which direction you are travelling.

As for shooting off at 700mph, I can offer no suggestions. This has not happened to me.
