Redundant POI Categories

I am using TomTom 5 on a PDA and my problem is:-
There are POI category's that are on display that when you try to manage them in the tick boxes they exit you out of the TomTom programme and also increase the volume of the PDA.
The offending ones doe not have the (.OV2 and .BMP) files in the Great Bitain Map folder on the storage card.
Where will I find on the programme the relevant files so as to repair or delete them.

if you are talking about the built-in categories then there's nothing (legal) you can do.

If you are not using a legitimate copy of TTN then you may consider buying a genuine one - that doesn't have these issues.

you can try delete poi.dat ,if you get rid of it it gets rid of all those poi's ,some people have reverted back to tt3 poi.dat as they say it works better
