tomtom 5 and tapwave zodiac help please

can any help me with this im trying to get tom tom 5 workin on tapwave zodiac (palm)
i have upgraded from palm navigator (which also never really worked right)
i can get version 5 to run sometimes but would like to update to newer but tapwave hptsync doesnt seem to like the upgrade much.
if it was like tt5 install where i cud choose memcard (with reader) or hotsync palm device i would be ok with install but hotsync is only way i can see to update. (is there a way to update to my sd card with my reader???)
is anyone else here using a zod that could help me
im about to uninstall hotsync and reinstal it on my pc and hard reset my palm zod im sooo wanting it to work.

oh my dad has the tomtom gps im using the `gps reciever bluetooth` off ebay seems to work fine with route66 on my phone soo i ruled out that being the prob.
ps route 66 on phone recalculates to slow so not a realitic option 8O
