navigating to a POI

hi all, I;ve got TT5 running on my PNA. when I look into CHANGE PREFERRENCES/MANAGE POI. there are loads there that I can enable/ disable. If I enable a category, its symbol is displayed on the map(OK so far). lets take Post Offices for example, if I touch the symbol on screen it will display details of the post office, ie address and phone number. However if I use NAVIGATE TO / POI / POST OFFICES, it tells me there are no POI's. this happens on several categories like leisure centres, swimming pools , government buildings etc.
my question is how do I get navigate to to recognise these poi's? clearly it knows where they are as it displays them on the map, it just doesn;t list them.
