 Today GlobalSat and EasyDevices have launced a new UK based Website. This official GlobalSat site will be run from the UK with input from GlobalSat TW. The new GlobalSat site is a direct response from uk customers typing in the www.globalsat.co.uk web address and expecting to find a local contact and support facility.
Sean from GlobalSat UK says : "We are continually looking at ways to provide Globalsat users with all the information they need in order to get the best of their products and to let them know that they have local representation and support. The www.globalsat.co.uk site will serve such a purpose"

So lets get this straight. Globalsat UK is pretending to be a UK operation when in reality it's Easydevices doing it with some input from the Taiwan based company?
How does that help me? Globalsat are still in Taiwan and Easydevices aren't even selling just Globalsat, they sell all sorts of stuff so where is their priority to me?
I really fail to see how a .co.uk is better than a .com.tw website when I can still get the same info. After all, the internet knows no boundaries.
Sounds like nothing more than shameful patronisation to me. I'll not be fooled and any company that believes it can "pretend" to be a UK based operation is fooling no-one but themselves.
People will vote with their feet and find real UK based companies. And there's not too many of them about now is there. |

Just to make it clear, the Globalsat UK site gives you representation for your Globalsat products in the UK.

Globalsat Taiwan are dealing with thousands of worldwide enquiries and support questions it can sometimes be very difficult for UK users to access this information and to get prompt responses to enquiries. With UK representation you will receive
- timely announcements of new products
- a local support resource
- a local point of contact
- easier and quicker access to documentation
- easier access to drivers and utilities
This is a major benefit to users of Globalsat products who no longer have to communicate with a company on the other side of the world with a time difference and a massive workload, not to forget a different native language.
You are still welcome to deal with Globalsat Taiwan if you would prefer not to communicate with your local respresentation. This is your choice. But the resource is there for you to use and for your benefit.
