I wonder if anyone out there knows how frequently TTG maps are updated, based upon previous instances?
I never cease to be amazed by the wealth of info packed onto a tiny SD chip, but also am a bit disappointed that an important local road (actually the new bypass from Stansted Airport to Braintree in Essex) does not feature on the TTG 300 map.
I have reported to TomTom, but in line with their disclaimer, they do not acknowledge info provided but say it will be passed to teleatlas.
Is there any way in which one can pay to update the maps without waiting for TT to release new versions? I'm guessing not.
In the meanwhile I shall ignore Jane's implied advice to get out of the uncharted field!
Cheers

Are the updates free, or do we have to pay for them? |

Unfortunately, they cost. 59 Euros this year, plus postage, for single countries on SD card. _________________ Richard

Thanks for the responses, much obliged.
One last question - in past updates just how "up-to-date" actually are the maps? (based upon - say - a newly opened road)
Obviously I appreciate there must be a time delay between gathering information, plotting it, and then releasing it for publishing - but just wondering what value you get for your money from TT/Teleatlas. Most of my driving will be in UK, by the way.
Cheers

To some extent, it's the luck of the draw - and some changes appear fairly soon if they happen to be updating that bit of the map at the right time.
But major road changes (like the M4/A34 intersection) can typically take at least 2 years to get updated, and more minor stuff - like new housing estates - can easily be 10 years or more out of date. _________________ Roger

Thanks again.
Hopefully as technology, and competition for TTG, improves things will get a bit better!!
