|
|
I hope that someone can help me with this problem. I have been using Tom Tom for over a year so I am not a complete novice. I have sucessfully upgraded from Tom Tom 3 to TT5 with no problems to begin with. However recently my GPS receiver does not appear to be able to cummunicate at all. It is very strange because the gps blue light changes from a flashing light to a constant light so it appear to lock on to a satelite signal. in TT GPs status the small blue and orange circle is spinning and the retangle bars register a signal but these are greyed out and it is reporting no GPs device. In the PDA blue tooth manager it recognises my GPS. I have tried following all suggestions on TT website and other posts on this forum to configure my GPS to no avail. As stated at the biginning of this post everything worked fine after the upgrade for a few weeks but it has suddenly stopped working.
I have an Ipaq 4150 and a mark 1 TT GPS any help anyone can give would be very welcome. |

Thanks for advice alix776. I have tried this but does not appear to work. On com port 8 the orange and blue circle does not spin at all. On com port 6 it is spinning but does not seem to communicate properly. I seem to have tried evey possible configuration. I am beginning to think it must be the hardware, although not sure if it the ipaq or the GPs receiver |

Disable "receive all" from the IRdA settings in connections tab, this will free up the serial port if you have been using the IRdA recently, secondly if you have added an external keyboard try using the software that came with it to select the serial port back to the mode you need SERIAL - I keep getting caught out with this one. (not to sure if this will work as you are using a BT device - but if connecting via the "other wired device" setting it possibly could be - just a thought.
Other Baud rates that might work are 4800 and 9600 - give them a try
