Is it possible for me to load MM onto each of my PPC's together with a different area map on each?

Yes. The licence is held on the PC. You can install the client and deploy maps to multiple PDA's from that PC without any physical restriction (although you would need to check the licence terms to see if this is permitted). _________________ Darren Griffin |

Darren, Have you tried doing this, I loaded MM on to my 4700, which works fine, then when I got the XDAIIs I tried loading it onto that with no sucess, it states "liecence details sent to PDA" but there is no application on the PDA, but you can export maps to it etc.
To get the MM on to the XDA I loaded the application onto my Laptop and installed to the XDA from there - it all works fine.
To prove the point I connected up my second 4700 to the main PC at home and the application will not load to the PDA, I then tried the laptop same result - so loaded it via my daugters PC. It looks as if the MM software remembers that the application has been loaded to a specfic PPC - Mike |

Well that's not the way it works with mine (Memory-Map OS2004).
I have a single instance installed on my laptop and have installed the PPC Client to at least 4 of my PDA's on occasion without any problem. _________________ Darren Griffin |

It's not some sort of ActiveSync issue is it? Do the other PDA's Sync OK. Is there any inidication that the client app has installed any files on the PPC? _________________ Darren Griffin |

No there are no files transferred to the PDA unless I select export visable portion of map, which works fine, it seems strange that the PDAs appear "paired" to a specific PC for MM application installation - It could be an active sync issue but as I said I have got around the problem, just not too sure why it behaves (or doesn't) in this way - As it works I am going to leave it well alone (still got to do a re-install on the XDA as it hard reset when I swapped the battery) and guess what no back up as I loaded the MM in a hurry before camping trip - I keep harping on about bach ups but still got it wrong, minor niggle - Mike |
