Can't write to SD card, Data.chk

Ok, a friend got a TTGo 300 and I've uploaded on to it the Speedcamera database, Aussie Sheila voice,

I then copied the data.chk file from the go, added a sound for the speedcamera and then tried to reload it back onto the Go,

The new file I was uploading is new_data.chk, I know the filename isn't correct, but I didn't want to delete the original file yet,

1st time it said drive full, so deleted some of the original voices, to create enough space,

Now it will only copy 2/3's of the file before stopping, waiting a few minutes them reporting something about the structure being too deep?

I've not been able to copy this file accross either through the TTGo or directly to the SD card,

I've tried renaming the file, copying it to a different location on the SD card, but still can't get it too copy,

Any suggestions would be greatfully received,

How much free space is on the card?

It sounds as if you might have either a corrupt file, or File Allocation Table.

Either direct USB connection to TTG, or in a card reader, using Paste/Copy to Copy to PC.

Before reformating the card make sure you have about 120MB backup on the PC.

When I tried to copy that file to my TTG 300 , it fails at 99% then windows says "copy failed" - but on ignoring this, my TTG300 seems to be working fine (including the new features in the new copied file)

If it works OK, I would just accept it.

Could be the card reader element is not reporting back to Windows that it has completeed.
