I used to be able to connect my TomTom 300 to my PC with no problems, to update its software and add POIs etc. I did the latest software upgrade about a month ago but the last few times I've tried to connect up I've had the following problem.
My PC cannot see my TomTom, although the Tom Tom knows that the USB cable is in, as it shows the picture of itself and the cable on its screen.
I have tried restarting my PC leaving my TTG switched on but as soon as the PC restarts the TTG shows the splash screen followed by a horizontal status bar growing at the bottom of its screen. It then reverts to a normal display showing my current location.
The PC connects fine to my digital camera and a USB key. It uses windows 98 but I HAVE installed the driver. It used to work fine and it's really frustrating that it doesn't now.
Any ideas? |

Try plugging in with the TTG switched on. Then try it with the TTG switched off, then switch on the TTG.
I don't know why but some do it one way, others do it .... the other.
I plug in before switching on. _________________ Richard
