I have just purchased a Navman 570 which comes with SmartST 2005.
I really DO NOT like the navigation software, it was a rush purchase at 7:45pm for use at 6am the following morning.
I have been using TT5 on a now broken Ipaq which i found good, you either love it or hate it, but it always worked fine for me.
I decided to try my version of TT5 on a 512mb SD Card on my new Navman 570, TT5 loaded fine but i cant get it to work with the integrated GPS Receiver on the 570, I tried different settings/com ports but i cant get it to work.
Do i need to9 download some drivers for the SD card which my TT5 is stored on ? I reckon i probably do but not 100%, if this is the case does anyone know where i can download drivers for the Integrated GPS unit on the Navman 570 ?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Cheers

My Pin 570 came with the UK maps already on it - why do you want to use TT5?
Mine works fine - hope you get your sorted! |

|
|
Regarding the question that 'antispam' has asked above. I, too have recently purchased a Navman Pin570. Now I am fairly new to the world of GPS so my knowledge is somewhat limited. I have also been told that alternative software can be installed rather than the preinstalled software that came with the unit.
I have found a couple of irritating points with this software that Makes me want to swap to TomTom. One annoying downside with the current Navman mapping is that there is no facilities to record a route in progress. Entering 'waypoints' is awkward and it seems only possible using the 'favourites option. Studying stats at the end is limited and miles travelled haven't any decimal points. As a walker it is rather important that I know distances accurately rather than to the nearest mile.
Finally another downside is that unlike the TomTom software, there is no way of choosing the travel option , such as cycling or walking.
Any help, or comments, regarding me installing TomTom would be very useful, even if it's only comments.
If 'antispam' has since solved this problem I would be very keen to hear from him.
