I am looking at changing my ipaq and purchasing an XDA2i.
Before I proceed I was wondering if you know of any issues with running TOMTOM v5 on the XDA2i? _________________ Please follow me on twitter @mdyson1968 |

YES there are ,most of us are having major problems with updating traffic and recieving calls ,there seem to be a few lucky ones that don't ...
if you want all to work ok you have to turn off the phone side of things (flight mode)
now i'm not saying the xda2i is a bad piece of kit ,in fact it is pretty good it's just that 1 little bug ,and i wish they would sort it out _________________ TomTom 5001 |

Hi andy-c1,
Do you know if there is a fix for the XDA2i lockup problems. Or are we still waiting for TOMTOM.
i.e. TT5 locking up on GPRS Traffic download & XDA2i lockup when a call is received.
I have posted I support request with them. If they respond with anything positive I will post here. |

|
Orange have posted details of the M5000 onto their website.
After telephoning the sales line I have been told that they should have stock in about 10 days and on a £30 per month tarrif the cost of the unit will be £100.
Sounds like a good deal. Just need to persuade the wife now into letting me spend the money. _________________ Please follow me on twitter @mdyson1968 |

That is a bit like the work-around that I have found.
If you start TomTom with the SD card out it will stop loading and say that it can't find the maps. Exit TomTom, put the card in and restart. GPRS works, as does the phone and text messaging. |

Andy, the locks you are experiancing happen in the same location each time, it is possible that the phone is switching reception beacons and this causes the lockup? do you have anyway to select display network information on the screen and see if it is switching between transmitters. My IIs gets confused at one specific location at work where it is equi positioned between Blackpool, Soutport and Preston - it doesn't lock TT up but the phone is unusable - only very small area at work - just happens to be where my office is!!
