Well I see this thread has inspired no one to reply so far
After considering it for a while longer, I'm beginning to think the BT-308 is the best option. I've since found another review of it, and again although it dates back to 2003 I've seen nothing to suggest that there is any reason why a GPS that was good in 2003 shouldn't be good in 2005.
I'm also somewhat encouraged by the fact it is a branded model, that seems to be of a higher quality build than the BT-77, which I haven't found a review on aside from the afore mentioned topic on this forum. Another consideration is that the BT-308 is still being sold in shops around the net at prices ranging from £99-£149. So using the logic that an expensive unit for cheap is better than a cheap unit for cheap, I think the BT-308 is the winner.
However I'm not sold just yet, I'll probably not be buying it until next week, so there is still time to get some further views of the members on this forum! |

If I were to spend the extra and get the GlobalSat BT-338 instead would I feel a the benefit? Potentially it will cost £20-£30 more than the BT-308, but does the performance improvement justify this?
Is it a case of I would be mad to not spend the extra, or is it more a case of the 338 is good but the 308 is fine for basic in car navigation? |

Ok then, I've decided not to penny pinch and get one of the Sirf III receivers, no point in spending all that money to cut corners!
So question now is Holux 236 or Globalsat BT-338 |
